The music is tense, liquescent and hypnotic. The characteristic sound was achieved through the use of various extended clarinet techniques, ex. multiphonics, flutter tongue, singing while playing a pitch, glissandi, quarter tones, double tongue, key clicks, circular breathing, pinched notes.

'Comfort in Chaos' is an experiment based on extended techniques, improvisation, and the use of chaos within the inherent textural and rhythmic parameters of the clarinet. Each voice keeping its own time and space and yet searching for a unique and common harmonic flow.
